Some trends that are looking to be the staples for Summer 2019 are Balayage, Rose Golds, Pastels tones and Going Grey Gracefully throughout the hair.
These are great options to start researching into if you want to change but haven’t quite decided what yet. Balayage is the safest option of these four trends, as it is known to be softer with less noticeable regrowth lines than regular highlights. Most people with balayage are wishing to create soft and natural looks that are like what children have lightened naturally by the sun. This type of style is a highly requested one in our salon, and for a great reason. The results that come out at the end are amazing!
Rose Gold Pastel Hues are currently blowing up. Don’t let the ‘gold’ part fool you, however, it doesn’t mean full-on carrot colour!
This look is all about beautiful Rose Pastel shimmers on powder lightened hair to accentuate your haircut and style. Over the past few years, celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Blake Lively, Kim Kardashian and Scarlett Johannsen have been a source of inspiration for this currently thriving style. At V for Hair and Beauty, our stylists that are amazing at creating looks like these are Daniel, Sara and Kumar. Your required outcome of this trending hair colour can be as bold or as subtle as you want, but to guarantee the results you are dreaming of making sure you bring a picture to show your stylist during your consultation or appointment.
For years women have coloured their hair as it began to turn grey.
As we progress into Summer 2019 however, we are seeing a lot more embracing their natural colours. Social media sites such as Pinterest and Instagram have many posts showing women of all ages proudly showing off their grey hair with blending tones, softer shades and beautiful hues. At V for Hair and Beauty, our favourite hues to mix and match to perfect your natural grey coming through are Sand, Iris, Silver, Dove, and Lilac. All these tones are perfect to work on any hair length and style. The hardest part of Going Grey Gracefully is the transition between your current colour to your natural. It is generally easier for blonder women to move to grey than women with darker hair shades. If you are feeling insecure about the contrast between coloured to natural as the weeks continue, as your stylist about lowlights.
Have you been away on holiday and are beginning to feel like your hair is undernourished and frizzy?
This is a common occurrence after vacations that include lots of sun and swimming. At V for Hair and Beauty, we have many Stylists you will be able to consult with to see what the best way for you to have soft and nourished hair again. Our Stylist Director Kumar is our top choice for any of the following; Chemical Straightening, Brazilian Blowout and Keratin Smoothing. These treatments are the absolute top way of getting your hair smoother and shinier than it was even before your holiday.
Chemically straightening your hair will rid it of kinks, frizz and curls leaving straight, shiny and much more manageable hair.
The Brazilian Blow out makes your hair more manageable and cuts down majorly on blow-waving time. Your hair will stay in style better, colours hold better and you are protecting and conditioning your hair. A keratin smoothing treatment is an alternative to both the Chemical Straightening and Brazilian Blowout. It seals the hair cuticles with a coating of protein that eliminates frizz, adds softness and shine. Any of these three options are wonderful ways to get the best look out of your hair all year round.
Whether you’re a blonde or not, you’ve most likely heard the horror stories of hair turning green after swimming.
Unfortunately, these are not just stories, they are a reality! If you are not careful, prolonged exposure to chlorine can turn blonde hair green. The easiest way to prevent this from happening is to wash your hair after every swim, and not let the chlorine dry onto your hair. Sometimes on holiday, we don’t have close access to our hair products all the time, which can lead to no washing and further down the line green hair. Washing your hair after every swim will also not guarantee your hair being safe as excessive amounts of swimming in pools can still lead to this happening.Well, you tried your best to avoid picking up the green tinge to your hair, but your holiday has finished and you’ve still ended up with one! What now? Master Stylist Vicki Ogden-O’Fee of V for Hair and Beauty Merivale recommends some in salon help. Instore we have services such as a deep cleansing treatment and a moisture infusion afterwards. After being exposed to elements during holiday and especially to chlorinated water, everyone’s hair will benefit from a treatment. Ask to book in with Chantelle or Rachel, who are very experienced in this field.
If you’ve come back from holiday to find that your beautiful blonde locks have faded or turned brassy?
Well, have no fear, as toner is here! In case you don’t already know, a toner is an amazing product the neutralizes brassy yellow and orange tones in bleached hair. When applied to this type of hair it ends up taking a more ashy, dusty or platinum colour to your own preference. By adding toner, it often creates a more natural and appealing hair tone. Toner can also be used to create a different look for the new year, by adding a different toner when you get your next set of highlights you automatically have a stunning new look ready for the New Year! But it doesn’t just stop there, a toner can also make your hair appear shinier and healthier as well. Our Stylists Kumar, Daniel and Sara are all happy to give you a consultation before your appointment to give you the look you want.
We hope this has given you some inspiration into new looks for 2019. Remember to try your best as your go away on holiday to take as good care of your hair as you can to prevent green tinges and extra money on treatments. Happy Holidaying everyone!
